Virginia has a very diversified background that made her who she is today. "My accomplishments along with my education brought me to working with parents whose teens were out of control. I recognized that from my younger self that parents needed to regain control of their teenagers," shared Virginia. "I had heard of a program called “Tough love” that was gaining success through the program and was giving parents back control of their teen and home as well. At that time the local Kiwanis club sponsored my training. And I then opened a “Tough love” program in my local community. I headed this program for 4 years in which I then passed it on to another member." Virginia was also hired in the County to work for the juvenile probation department. She went on to work further within the State and City correctional field for more than 25 years. "My life experiences took me in many directions. I became a published writer and have been published in a few anthologies of poetry, stated Virginia. "I am currently in the process of working on my memoir."
Virginia enjoys travel, camping, hot air ballooning, and going to old ghost towns. "Growing up I was involved in drama classes, elementary through high school.. When I moved to Cochise county about 12 years ago I had the opportunity to be involved with a group of people who performed every weekend in Tombstone. Which was a wonderful experience. Although I was already involved in collecting antiques, moving here to Cochise County, it has a lot of history which has taken me to different locations with adding to my collection. I also enjoy vintage cars and truck shows. My parents had two vintage trucks in which I traveled with them on rides with their club on Route 66. I also like bird watching.
In February 2023, Virginia, along with her husband, opened Somewhere In Time Antiques. Virginia is enrolled in the Ashford University of Antiques and Collectibles to become a certified appraiser for insurance purposes to assist people with understanding the value of their antiques.
